Natalia Macias provides a caring and unique muscular therapy experience that leaves her clients with greater self-awareness and a desire to grow and learn more through their bodies. Her interest in the healing arts comes from her lifelong involvement in the dance world. After she developed an injury that discouraged intense training and performing, she discovered massage therapy to be the most effective means of alleviating her pain. Natalia believes that massage is a necessary step towards personal transformation: “Through an awakened body, we get in touch with ourselves. This allows us to connect with others and begin on the path of an awakened mind and heart.” Natalia uses her skills to treat a variety of pains and injuries. She completed her training at the Muscular Therapy Institute (MTI) in Watertown, where her more than 700 hours of education included assessment, treatment and prevention of pain and injury problems, and helping to reduce stress and induce relaxation. In addition to her training at MTI, Natalia has taken workshops with Tom Myers, a world authority on bodywork and analysis of human anatomy. The Muscular Therapy technique incorporates influences from Swedish massage, deep tissue bodywork, and myofascial and friction therapies. Natalia fuses her knowledge of body mechanics, stretch, and exercise training from her experience as a dancer into her sessions. Once the massage portion of the session has ended, she also recommends and demonstrates simple self-care exercises to extend the beneficial effects of the massage. Natalia is available at Koru Studio for appointments Fridays 8-9 AM and Sundays 4-5 PM and 7-8 PM weekly. Please contact by e-mail (ni_macias@yahoo.com), or by calling her directly at (617) 459-3452 to book an appointment, ask a question, or learn about special offers! “Love is the outward movement from the heart that impels us to break out of narrow self-centeredness and open up to the whole world.” For more information, please contact |
